Article number Five of a series of blog posts. As a heads up, I don’t claim to be an expert, I don’t have a Fidenza, nor a Bored Ape and at that I’m not a Cool Cat. I am a market participant who has been in a handful of discord servers, minted many cool NFTs, engaged with numerous artists, etc. At the end of the day, I identify as an artist, a designer, and somewhat of a marketer.

It’s through these lenses that I intend to shine some light on artists, developers and creators to provide some insight or behind the scenes into how their journey has been so far. Through learning from each other, by trial and error, I believe we can create an even better space for years to come.

Creating and selling NFT is similar to any other product or service. Every day the number of artists and collections is growing and platforms get more and more traffic. This means that your chances to be seen are reducing and you need to stand out from others with your unique NFT marketing strategy and promotion and avoid your NFT project failing!

But before I start talking about more NFT marketing and promotion you should never ever create an ordinary NFT art or collection. Why someone would purchase it?

Instead, you need to be unique, to stand out from everyone. Your art should tell a story, should contain something that no other collections have. What idea does your nft contain behind the art? Or maybe it needs to be super cool that looking at art people will connect emotionally. On the other side, a lot of things are relative in the niche.

Why should you start promoting your NFT Collection

If your goal is to increase the price of your NFT art, if you want to sell art and make big money, you must promote it. Even if you have outstanding art and collections no one will pay big money if you aren't famous if you aren't an authority in the NFT world. And by saying big money I mean millions of dollars.

Consider the example of Mike Winkelmann. Better known as Beepl. He is a wonderful artist, a guy that didn't give up and worked on his Instagram for years. Eventually, he became known, especially when he sold his art for 69 million USD. Today Beepl is one of the most famous influencers in the niche.

List your drop to the calendar (free)

Luckily there are NFT calendars where creators can list their drops. Calendars help creators and buyers connect to each other in the easiest way. One of my favorite calendars is NFTdroops. It has the simplest design, without distracting ads. A place where people spend time browsing NFT events.

Definitely check NFTdroops, and list your drop within a minute. It's definitely the easiest way to track upcoming NFT drops.

Social Media (free)

Twitter and Instagram are the most effective social media you can promote your NFT. What you can do on Social media?

  • Consistently create and deliver high-quality content
  • Join communities and share your art there
  • Use twitter spaces and talk about you do
  • Host a giveaway
  • Contact with similar people for inspiration Know your target audience and their motivations
  • Initiate the collaboration
  • Team up with musicians, fashion brands, celebrities, animation studios to release Collections.

This way artists enhance their artwork with the aid of other professionals. Plus artists and celebrities exchange their audiences helping each other grow and be known. This strategy is not about monetization but recognition. It's difficult but don't give up on this journey, don't stop reaching my guy. Keep in mind the person you are looking for is looking for you too.

Use themed groups on telegram and discord

Joining themed groups is another effective way to promote your NFT. Here the most important thing is to not spam every 5 minutes. Don't do like others. Try to find something different and unique.

All these strategies take time and energy to accomplish. Now let's discuss paid ways of NFT promotions. And the result you'll feel immediately.

Get to the featured drops on the marketplace (paid)

This kind of promotion should be discussed with marketplace admins. Some marketplaces have a separate page of featured NFTs. This means that you'll get more attention than others inside the marketplace. In addition, you may be shared on their social media accounts too. You feel yourself a VIP right?))

Get to the newsletter

Most marketplaces, media, and other crypto platforms send newsletters several times per week. What are you going to do? Simply reach them out with a request to add your drop in their upcoming newsletter. It's likely a paid promotion and depends on marketplaces. The bigger the marketplace the higher will be the service price.

Include influencers

Do you need social proof, awareness? Want people to talk about your art? Then the biggest impact in your NFT promotion you'll feel when you include influencers. Find authority influencers and start collaborating with them.

Finding influencers don't consider only followers. Pay attention to their content, what engagements they get from the audience, how they deliver the promotion etc….. In short, pay attention to details.

Let popular media talk about your drop

It'll make a huge impact when you write an article about your collection and distribute it on popular and themed media. It's a paid promotion, but if you can’t afford such NFT promotion you can write articles on medium. It's free, in addition, Medium has high domain authority. This means that your chances to rank on Google are high.

To rank high on google, research and discover high volume but low competition keywords for your article. Keyword research should be implemented before writing an article.

I'll create a list of the best marketplaces, blogs and NFT influencers in 2022 later on in this challenge.
